The story
This is a public, never-ending story written together. Each day a hand of words is dealt from the hat the day before filled, every browser votes once, and a word that gathers enough votes is added to the story for good. A busy day can add more than one word. There are no accounts.
If a day ends with more than one word in the lead, the first visitor to arrive may take the turn and choose one of them, including a visitor whose own word is tied. If nobody takes that turn within three hours, the tied word with the lowest number on the day's hand is the one that stays.
The title campaign and the countdown start only when the owner turns them on, and their dates are his to set.
What you add
You are responsible for every word, title, vote, report, or other submission we accept. For text meant for the public story, you give us and the public a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, show, copy, distribute, and promote it as part of the service.
One title may be nominated per browser, up to eight words. A title cannot be changed or withdrawn once we accept it. A duplicate or invalid title is refused rather than accepted. Approval is never guaranteed.
Each browser may put one word in the hat for free each day, and an extra word costs one dollar. A word goes into the next day's hat, and if it is not chosen it expires at that day's close and is never dealt again. An expired word is not refunded, because the place in the hat was delivered. Before the story opens, a word put in from a title page waits for the first day instead.
Keep it safe
Do not submit illegal acts, hate, threats, harassment, targeted abuse, sexual content involving minors, child sexual abuse material, private contact or financial information, content you cannot legally submit, spam, advertising, malware, or banned links.
Do not automate or manipulate participation, disrupt the service, or evade safeguards. Ordinary profanity is allowed. Anonymous voting uses best-effort technical and behavior signals. A suspicious vote may count or be silently left out; a shared connection alone does not cause exclusion. These controls add friction, not proof or a guarantee against manipulation.
Payments
An extra word in the hat costs one dollar, shown on the Stripe checkout page before you pay. We check safety, duplicates, and availability before checkout opens. There are no promotion codes.
Stripe places a temporary authorization hold. We ask for capture only after that exact word is secured in the hat. If it cannot be secured, we do not capture, and any hold is released.
Paying buys a place in the next day's hat, never votes, position, better odds, ownership, or a share of the result. A paid word that is not chosen that day expires with every other word from that hat and gets no refund, because the place in the hat was delivered. If captured payment cannot be delivered at all, we give a full refund after reconciliation.
A word may still be removed for safety without an automatic refund. Refunds and disputes never rewrite a finished day or the story. There is no stored balance, credit pack, wallet, restore code, promotion, paid title, or second paid action. Stripe may collect an email for its receipt; we do not use it as an identity.
Other rules
We may remove, hide, replace, or limit content or access after reports or automated safety review. We do not promise that a contribution will be accepted, chosen, kept, or shown.
TWAMD LLC owns the service name, design, and software. If you believe material on the service infringes your copyright, contact us with the work, its location, your contact details, and the statements the law requires.
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, inoffensive, or coherent service or content.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TWAMD LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profit, or lost data. Total liability is the greater of what you paid us in the prior 12 months or 100 US dollars.
You agree to cover claims and costs caused by your contributions or breach. We may suspend access to protect the service or its users. United States and Arkansas law govern, and disputes belong in Arkansas state or federal court. We may update these terms; the effective date marks the latest version.
